Had a wonderful evening - a real gem and a must visit for anybody who is a foodie who wants to have a culinary experience
Who would have believed that such a place existed. What a fantastic evening. Staff extremely attentive. The food was delicious. Lots of attention to detail. Byron is a wonderful person. Entertainment exciting. What a brilliant experience. Thank you Gentleman's Arthouse for a fabulous evening.

They even took in account the dietary requirements I wrote when making the reservation and consulted us about them at the beginning of the dinner. The restaurant is stunning and every detail of it has been thought through. The food was visually beautiful and full of flavour and taste. The night even included entertainment with a fire dancer or flame blower, if you preferred the term. The background music was perfect.
I cannot say anything wrong about the restaurant since they made sure the entire evening was perfect. It is not a cheap bill but it is worth every rand. It is a good balance of price/quality or the kind of attention you get. I would definitively go again...and again.

With the most interesting history, the Gentlemen's Club is great place, with
ambiance to spare. As a wine drinker, I cannot rage about the cocktails, which they are a feature on the beverage list, try for yourself. The dégustation menu we had was imaginative, well plated and had a few new tastes I had not experienced before, notably a basil soil and a pumpkin brûlée.
Old world feel is further complemented by the references on the menu of food based in the beginning of the 20th century cuisine, thank the turtle soup which was so popular, had been ditched for a bouillabaisse.
Sadly this gem is not open for business normally, thus a more corporate venue; fear not, apparently that is going to change.

The Gentlemen's Arthouse is a boutique boite, a delicious restored heritage gem and now a Stellar Venue for private events and signature experiences, accommodating 50 guests in the inimate interior or up to 150 guests in the exterior courtyard, depending on the type of occasion required.
The restored Edwardian Gentlemen's Washrooms, dating back to 1911, play host to decadent events and eccentric experiences from customised events, proprietary cocktails and tailor house menus inspired by authentic Victoriana with a modern twist.
