Wow, what a complete disaster! We arrived at our appointed time, I immediately advised the waitress that we have a high tea reservation for restaurant week. She had no idea what I was talking about. I even handed her the confirmation email I had printed out and asked her to hand it to her manager who then came around and also had no idea to which I had to explain to her what it was about and also had to show her what the menu was. She advised she’s only been there for a week. She did however say she will check with her other manager but sure all will be fine. We then had to explain again to the waitress what the menu included as no one from management had taken her aside to explain, I guess since they had no clue themselves.
It didn’t get any better unfortunately. Myatt became very busy all of a sudden and it seem there was only 1 waitress on duty. I ordered a tea and my husband a cappuccino. My tea came but not my husbands cappuccino. Waited a very long time and asked another employee (could’ve been a manager) to pls organize the cappuccino.
Since it was a high tea there were choices we had to advise of what we wanted to enjoy. They got it wrong so many times. I had to ask three things to be changed to what I had ordered after it was brought out then there was the cake slice I was shown and chose just to be told after bringing my husband’s choice that mine is actually not available. There was also a choice of 3 macaroons. The general selection has 18 options but on the day they only had 4 options available and even that order was incorrect. They were also not nice as all of the fillings just tasted of butter.
When it came to paying they rang up the standard high tea price p/p, not the restaurant week price and added additional charges where they had made mistakes and had to bring that which they forgot or got wrong. This time I had to explain to a different manager that we had made our booking through restaurant week and what the price p/p is and he also had no clue. But finally we got the bill sorted.
To top it all off I received a call today (2 days after) from a guy named Nico from Myatt asking when we are coming for our reservation as they’v been waiting since 15:30 today. Had to inform him that we had already been on Sunday and that we had a shocking experience and shocked now to get this call since we had already been. He just said he didn’t know that we had already been on Sunday.
I’m lost for words... not keen on supporting them again.
