Will definitely go back. Food was exceptional the meat was done to perfection - was tender and juicy with a lot of flavor. The service was great and our waiter new the menu well. Nice ambiance in restaurant. Will recommend it everybody.

I thoroughly enjoyed the idea of restaurant week. I was a little thrown when i went to pay before the meal as i was paying for friends. Now. If i remember correctly the price only goes up if the restaurant has an extra star and so on. So We went there expecting a 3 course meal as it said on the add. It did not display the menu on the site or say that we would not get better a 3 course meal for the R250,,But instead 2 course meal for R230 which for there i felt was more expensive doing retaurant week than just going there. 3 course meal was R310...To be honest,we all enjoyed ourselves and the food really was great. We had the most wonderful waitress by the name of Yvonne... My only critic is that should disclose that. Looking forward to trying out some other restaurants.

Service was exceptional and the food was just as good. We had some great live music and overall an enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back to The Butcher Block.

With a strong desire to provide quality steaks to the people of South Africa, and the realisation that there were no good Steakhouses in Durban, Manuel Savic set out to change the tide. Butcher Block was founded in 2003 by Manuel, and has since grown into a well-known and highly respected steakhouse company.

7. Is cancellation free?

Yes, you can always cancel for free.

If you have made a prepayment via Dineplan, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your reservation. The amount you paid in advance will be automatically refunded to your account. Refunds through Dineplan should be resolved in communication with the restaurant, and we are not directly involved in this process.

8. Until when can I cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation online up to 8 hours in advance, or by phone up to 1 hour before your reservation time. However, we kindly request that you cancel as soon as you know you won't be able to make your reservation.

9. What is Restaurant Week South Africa?

During Restaurant Week South Africa, you can indulge in a fabulous 3-course dinner at over 140 of the finest restaurants in South Africa, starting at ZAR 295.00 per person. Restaurant Week South Africa is held twice a year, in Autumn and Spring.
