Had an absolute blast celebrating a birthday there. Thank you to the awesome staff and chefs

The cocktails are deliciously served ice cold in pretty vases. Yes vases, as the glasses are large and the cocktails are full flavoured. I came back because the cocktails were different and value for money. We had a problem with one and the manager replaced it and the replacement was perfect.
I missed out on tacos this time, as we chose the XXL menu, so will have to come back. It was a set menu with some interesting options, I had a lovely cheese course to start, the figs and honey were such lovely additions to some wonderfully different cheese options that I had never tasted before. The Seafood main was extraordinary. Crab claws, seared tuna and the plumpest prawns I have ever eaten. They were so good they didn't need any peri peri, cajun flavour or whatever you usually get with prawns anywhere else. I chose the poached pears for dessert as I like to be able to sample more than one dessert. Unfortunately, I didn't like the pears. My fault as I don't like cooked fruit. I put my hand up. I don't like apple pie. The ice cream served with it was great though. Alfajores was mentioned in the description so the condensed milk and cinnamon ice cream tied in perfectly with the crumb, which I assume was the alfajores element.
All in all, I can't fault them for a really memorable experience.
Service was a bit slow towards the end of the evening and though attentive and friendly throughout, I wouldn't say excellent.
Thanks to all. We will be back.

JOBURG'S BEST HISPANIC RESTAURANT
La Boqueria, situated in Parktown North, is an iconic eatery with sublime food and décor to match. The Hispanic-style restaurant makes you feel as though you’re sitting bar-side in Barcelona – complete with lazily spinning ceiling fans, hanging macramé plants, lush greenery and on-trend furnishings. It’s a treat for the senses and the taste buds.
LA BOQUERIA IS OUR LOVE LETTER TO HISPANIC FOOD
The menu encapsulates delicious Hispanic market-style food which leans towards sharing and feasting. From healthy Peruvian ceviche to Mexican tacos and Argentinian inspired asado, where dishes like lamb picanha and beef fillet kabobs are cooked over coals. The sharing plates for feasting include paellas, which are slow-cooked, in a traditional hearth for a delicious, smoky flavour, and sustainable whole fish from our coal oven.
