Read full reviewI wish I could rate Adega but we had the most awful experience before we could even order a drink. They were not prepared or did not care much for Restaurant week. We were initially served normal menus, after which we stated for the second time we had a restaurant week booking. When our waiter returned after a long wait, and we asked again about restaurant week he had no idea what that was. At this point I was checking my emails, convinced we were actually in the wrong place. That’s how clueless everyone was. We had to explain it to him and show our booking. It took another 5 minutes to get the right menu as the manager had to quickly print one in the back. We were dished the menu with an irritated glance and that was the end of our experience. We waited another 10 minutes to place our drinks order but our waiter never came. We stood up to leave and not a single person even noticed, nevermind tried to take any action. The worst part is that we were seated right in the middle of the passage near the bar area so it was quite hard to miss or forget us. It was really disgraceful and I have never felt so unwelcome or uncomfortable in a place before. We have supported restaurant week since it’s beginning and this was definitely a first. I know this is not the standard you aim for but I would be deeply disappointed to see any Adega featured on your restaurant list in the future as they do not care for your initiative - I believe they use you as a marketing ploy to get people in and then force the normal menu where they will make more money. We were more disappointed that this was the only gap we had this year to support restaurant week and it was wasted on a money hungry bunch.
Everything from starters to main course and especially dessert was delicious. The G&T cocktail was different and delicious. There was a private function going on that's why the atmosphere was totally off. We celebrated our anniversary there and will be back soon.
The seafood was amazing. Soft, tender and juicy. We will definitely go again. Location is convenient.
