I went to Eclipse for Restaurant Week 2024 and ordered the 3-course special for R295. You could choose between two options for each course. As a vegetarian, I chose the beet citrus salad for my starter, veggie pasta for the main and mango pavlova for dessert.

The first course took over 30 minutes to arrive, perhaps because they were catering for a large group that was having a conference at the hotel. But the food looked beautiful and I was excited to dig in.

The salad was bland and could've used some seeds or nuts for a bit more crunch. The blood orange tasted bitter, like grapefruit, and there was no citrus in the dressing. It tasted more like salted yoghurt. The pasta lacked salt and the marrow pieces were too large so they were crunchy instead of soft. The dessert had far too much meringue to fruit and cream, and wasn't easy to eat even though it looked incredible. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive but the service was great.

Had lunch at a quiet time and it was nice feeling like we had the restaurant to ourselves. Got great service all throughout. The cocktails were good, we enjoyed the food. It was nice and filling. The sun was just right to take amazing pictures and enjoy the view. Definitely a memorable experience.

7. Is cancellation free?

Yes, you can always cancel for free.

If you have made a prepayment via Dineplan, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your reservation. The amount you paid in advance will be automatically refunded to your account. Refunds through Dineplan should be resolved in communication with the restaurant, and we are not directly involved in this process.

8. Until when can I cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation online up to 8 hours in advance, or by phone up to 1 hour before your reservation time. However, we kindly request that you cancel as soon as you know you won't be able to make your reservation.

During Restaurant Week South Africa, you can indulge in a fabulous 3-course dinner at over 150 of the finest restaurants in South Africa, starting at ZAR 295.00 per person. Restaurant Week South Africa is held twice a year, in Autumn and Spring.
