Food was great but service was poor.
nice dinner at an old name
Why have a week to prompt restaurants and then service below average food with the pretences of a special. The food and service were both very poor even for a “special” I won’t recommend this place nor will I go back
Lovely experience. Would go again.
We had a lovely experience. the staff were very friendly, accommodating and competent. We felt nurtured. They will definitely see us again. well done!

About Beluga
Cuisine: Japanese / Sushi
Guests can look forward to enjoying the vibrant views of the Cape Town Cruise Terminal harbour from our new balcony. Our new Waterfront restaurant will include a refined whisky bar, wine-tasting section, sushi conveyer belt and private dining area.
For our vegan patrons, Beluga’s famous vegan sushi will be returning, so rest assured we have something for everyone. We are also a Halaal-friendly venue, so while we serve alcohol on the premises, we do not serve pork at all, nor do we cook with alcohol in our kitchen.
Whether you’re seeking the romantic restaurant experience or craving some of the best sushi Cape Town has to offer, Beluga’s new location promises all the old favourites but with exciting new additions and even better vibes.
Beluga opened its doors in 2000, offering guests a Euro-Asian fusion menu in a cool but casual atmosphere. It was once voted as one of the top 60 restaurants in the world by Conde Nast Traveller and was known for its delectable sushi and post-meal jelly beans.
Fast forward to 2017 when the restaurant was under new ownership – they pushed the restaurant to the next level with yearly launch events and exciting menu changes like adding amazing vegan options, fresh seafood platters and highlighted the phenomenal wines South Africa has to offer.
Beluga is thrilled and honoured to be located in the new Cape Town Cruise Terminal of the V&A Waterfront. The location is something we’ve dreamt about and the words from sea to table have never meant more than they do now. We look forward to seeing our loyal patrons and many new faces again.
