The short rib in particular had such good balance. Subtely smokey, flavours of great barbeque, undertones of coffee. Falling of the bone, with the right amount of richness for the dish. The parsnip puree was velvety and delicious. Great combination. The star of the meal for me, but the other dishes were great also. Well done to Chef Davies and our waiter Sibusiso. I would definitely recommend Clico.

My husband n I came for the restaurant week. Clico is such a cosy, little restaurant that I had never even heard of. The food was delicious n our waiter was very attentive. The restaurant because of its size didn't feel busy which was nice, made it feel more intimate. We had a great evening celebrating our anniversary.

The Restaurant

The award-winning Clico restaurant opened in October 2015. Clico Boutique Hotel is renowned for being an intimate establishment offering personalised service and the restaurant echoes this theme. The restaurant space boasts unique architectural design within a metal structure with triple volume ceilings and natural light flooding through the glass stacked doors. This refined restaurant with a contemporary South African menu has become a refreshing favourite on the Johannesburg dining scene.

Comfortable upholstered chairs and large sliding doors make for a semi-alfresco atmosphere. The glass stacked doors allow the flexibility to divide the restaurant into two sections to accommodate private meetings, functions and special occasions.

Clico is proud to be a member of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, an International Association of Gastronomy that brings together enthusiasts who share the same values of quality, refined dining, the encouragement of the culinary arts and the pleasures of the table in the appreciation of fine cuisine.

Clico Restaurant is open to the public and hotel guests, can enjoy our contemporary South African-style cooking with classical influences which is reflected in our tasting menus that change seasonally. Off-street parking which is accessible from Jellicoe Avenue allows for easy access.

The Chef

Clico, one of Joburg’s top-rated refined dining eateries, has appointed executive-chef Davies Moagi as its new Head Chef. Former head chef at Pecanwood, Davies Moagi, has graced many of South Africa's fine dining kitchens in his career as a chef.

Opened in 2015, Clico Restaurant, provides refined food and wine for diners with impeccable taste.

If you have made a prepayment via Dineplan, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your reservation. The amount you paid in advance will be automatically refunded to your account. Refunds through Dineplan should be resolved in communication with the restaurant, and we are not directly involved in this process.

You can cancel your reservation online up to 8 hours in advance, or by phone up to 1 hour before your reservation time. However, we kindly request that you cancel as soon as you know you won't be able to make your reservation.
