There is however a new chef this year and sadly the food was not as delicious. All the food was beautifully presented, but lacked flavor and the pork was very tough and difficult to cut.
The venue is beautiful and we were fortunate to have a private room with our own fireplace.
The waiting staff however require more training about the restaurant week menu, our waiter did not know how to explain the chocolate and berry plate to us.
The service at Clico Boutique Hotel was superb. I was met at my car by the manger who welcomed me and escorted me to the dinning area. The wait staff were friendly and professional.
Every meal was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious.
Clico Restaurant served up another winner menu for Restaurant Week. We LOVED it all!

Despite the surrounding construction this hidden gem provides a beautiful escape to relax and enjoy a delicious meal over lunch. The service was absolutely fantastic and our waiter made sure that we never went hungry or without attention. We were placed outside next to the beautiful little garden with colourful flowers creeping up the wall. We had the mains of Kabeljou with lentils, salsa Verde and pak choi. Absolutely perfectly cooked food, of which we left none behind. Following shortly after this we tried both the Eton Mess and the Pumpkin Pie with Molasses Ice Cream. Never before have I seen desserts so beautifully presented alongside a visit from the chef himself to explain them. Both were absolute works of art and though it was a shame to destroy what had been spread across the canvas, once again not one bite remained. A truly wonderful experience, and definitely a restaurant I would return to as soon as possible!

The Restaurant
The award-winning Clico restaurant opened in October 2015. Clico Boutique Hotel is renowned for being an intimate establishment offering personalised service and the restaurant echoes this theme. The restaurant space boasts unique architectural design within a metal structure with triple volume ceilings and natural light flooding through the glass stacked doors. This refined restaurant with a contemporary South African menu has become a refreshing favourite on the Johannesburg dining scene.
Comfortable upholstered chairs and large sliding doors make for a semi-alfresco atmosphere. The glass stacked doors allow the flexibility to divide the restaurant into two sections to accommodate private meetings, functions and special occasions.
