Roots is absolutely gorgeous as a venue however there were flies everywhere, in the waiting/welcome room, in the actual restaurant, in the toilets. We chose to do the wine pairing which was nice, the wines chosen went very well with the cuisines however the amounts of wine were tiny (we go on numerous pairings). The starter and second dish were very nice, not nice enough to order again but nice and different. The main I could not stomach, it was so rich and not to my taste at all but the combinations of food were so interesting. Desert was very nice.

That's how fine dinning should be presented! Loved the waiter and the experience... Look also into non alcoholic wines for people like me...

I had heard quite a bit about Roots, so was eager to try it out. Perhaps my expectations were too high...the service, from the time we arrived, was attentive and friendly. The setting was warm and welcoming. We received a 4 (instead of a 3) course meal, with a few canapés to start and some "petit fours" with coffee, so we certainly felt like we got more than our money's worth. Unfortunately, each course (except dessert - which was faultless) had some very good and then some mediocre elements. No dish in its entirety blew us away. But nothing was terrible or inedible. We had a pleasant evening, but it unfortunately didn't live up to the expectations created.

1. Do I need to pay upfront?

At most restaurants, you can make reservations for free and cancel them without any charge. You'll settle the bill when you dine at the restaurant. However, some restaurants may request a small deposit, and they will send a prepayment request via Dineplan to confirm your reservation.

If you have made a prepayment via Dineplan, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your reservation. The amount you paid in advance will be automatically refunded to your account. Refunds through Dineplan should be resolved in communication with the restaurant, and we are not directly involved in this process.

8. Until when can I cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation online up to 8 hours in advance, or by phone up to 1 hour before your reservation time. However, we kindly request that you cancel as soon as you know you won't be able to make your reservation.
