We had lamb kebabs with a mint and ginger sauce which was well presented and tasted great it was also a substantial portion.
For mains we had lamb rogan josh with butter naan. It tasted devine! My husband commented on the portion size as it was more than enough, even for him.
The dessert was something we have never tasted before; the best way to describe it was grated carrots cooked in a caramel sauce with shaved almonds and vanilla ice cream on the side, it was very sweet but absolutely yummy!
They also had an impressive wine list, more than enough options to choose from.
It was an great choice for our date night - we will definitely return!
My wife and I went to Pride of India for Restaurant Week.

Both of us received a butternut soup as an appetizer. It was awesome. I ordered the lamb kebabs as a starter and my wife had a fried onion dish. Both these dishes were great, but mine was the dish of the evening.
As a main course, I had the Butter Chicken and my wife the Rogan Josh. Both dishes were delicious. Dessert consisted of Carrot Halwa with ice cream. It was the first time that both of us had tried it, and we both really like it.
Pride of India will definately see us again
What an awesome evening!! Another wonderful Reataurant Week experience. We were last at Pride of India while it was still in Groenkloof. This was our first time at the new location and it is so much better.

The waiters were extremely friendly and helpful and the manager involved throughout the evening. The food came quickly after ordering - we never really had to wait for anything. Just before the mains were served we were brought warmed up plates which I thought was a very nice touch.
The food, oh the food!! We were served with a spicy butternut soup as an appetizer which was awesome. If it is not on their menu I would suggest they add it as a starter - it was that good. My starter was spiced, deep-fried onion balls served with a mint dip which was nice but my husband had the minced lamb kebabs - definitely the dish of the evening!! We ordered a lamb rogan josh (perfectly spiced) and a butter chicken (strangely sweet, but it worked). The dessert was carrot halwa with ice cream - something I've never had but really enjoyed.
I have to say, for the price set by Restaurant Week, we definitely received value for money. And will I be back? Most definitely!!
Restaurant week at Pride on India was really good. An extra surprise butternut soup appetiser set the scene. The starter portions were quite big and could be enough for a main meal. The lamb madras curry was a favourite on our table and the naan bread was a hit. Really good food.
Friendly staff and great Indian cuisine - exactly what we were in the mood for :)
