We had a wonderful dinner at Prosopo last night. John, our server was very attentive ensuring that our every need was catered to. The owner was also around and came past for a quick chat a number of times, he really takes time with his patrons and creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is beautiful, the wine list varied and the food delicious!
Not our fist visit to Presopa-and as allways what you see is what you get.The service ect is consistent and the food good.POSITIVE CRITISISM:- the mousse was great as allways but lack "FINESSE"in the way it is presented.Over all a good experience.

The cuisine was divine, the ambiance has a welcoming yet modern feel to it, and the manager and staff was very attentive. We had the Garlic Snails for starters, Lamb Kleftiko as our main (highly recommended!) and the Rooibos Creme Brulee and Greek Milk Tart (Galaktaboureko) for desert. According to my husband, who is a self acclaimed creme brulee expert, Prosopa serves the best Creme Brulee is the whole of Pretoria!
It was a truly wonderful dining experience, we will definitely go back!
A first time for us. Food was good, but really nothing extraordinary. The restaurant week menu did provide for a lot of variety which was nice. Service wasn't great - I think too few waiters for the restaurant on a busy night. My husband had the rib-eye steak which was very nice. I had the Lamb kleftiko which was so...

Service wasn't great - I think too few waiters for the restaurant on a busy night. My husband had the rib-eye steak which was very nice. I had the Lamb kleftiko which was so dry and I also did not appreciate the pieces of tin foil in the meat. Overall a satisfying experience.

Same family apparently, so they really have a winning recipe. The manager talked us through the menu and provided a lot of good suggestions, even allowing a dessert choice that was not originally on the menu. If it wasn't for waiters picking up our wine glasses to refill them, I would have scored the service 5. Although the food was great, I would suggest slightly smaller portions, especially if it is a 3 course set menu. All in all, the best way to spend Sunday evening (definitely better than that Snackwich and Carte Blanche).

About Prosopa

Prosopa
The elegant, stylish interior designed by renowned local architect, Callie van der Merwe, creates a sophisticated, fresh atmosphere at Prosopa, situated in the heart of Waterkloof Heights.
Prosopa’s extensive Mediterranean menu is influenced by the flavours of Greece, Portugal and Spain. The signature lamb dish Kleftiko is deboned leg of lamb wrapped in vine leaves & foil stuffed with feta, fresh tomato, herbs and spices and slow roasted in the oven. An option one cannot stay away from is the fantastic array of mezze one can have on a platter or individually.
The extensive award-winning wine list offers many a gem to be enjoyed beside the fireplace on a cold winter’s night or on the veranda with the curtains blowing in a soft summer breeze.
