Lust Bistro is a beautiful restaurant and it was a big treat to visit them during Restaurant week. The service was excellent, the food absolutely divine and the views from the farm absolutely breathtaking.
We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back again!
Impeccable service; tasty food, delicious wine. A great experience.

So it needed the invitation of 'Restaurant Week' to look beyond the rim of the plate. And what a pleasant surprise we had at 'Lust Bistro' - one can say: we were almost 'bowled over' (excuse the pun) by the dishes on offer and the attentive service. My partner had gnocchi and they came in such a smooth sauce which made them melt in the mouth, while I settled for an apple cum what have you salad with a pleasant vinaigrette as a starter. On the main side a lamb pie was served with delicious curry beans as side dish and chicken breast on a bed of different beans - both very innovative and not run of the mill dishes. During the course of the meal we were served by almost the entire waiting staff, which can be overbearing but as they all had a sparkle it became a welcoming experience. The interiors are bistro style with an open view of the bakery and the wood-fired oven there and are modern and simple. On a sunny day the restaurant surely shines a bit more as on the overcast day we were visiting the place. As my partner and I are both running guesthouses one is always asked by the guests for restaurant recommendations. This could be one if the guests don't mind travelling over the Helshoogte Pass to the back of Simonsberg, which can be an enjoyable trip.

We were a party of 3 and were very impressed with the whole experience on the evening of 29th October. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere great. It wasn't a busy evening and therefore lent to a more serene, quiet evening. We each ordered a different starter and dessert - just so that we could taste each others plates. Very jummy and such delicate flavours!!! The main dish of rump steak was cooked to perfection! It's definitely a restaurant I'd like to come back to on one my future visits to Paarl. Well done.
What a great experience! Extremely tentative waittress and restaurant management, food was such a pleasure with layers of flavours and beautifully presented. We were first time visitors but will defnitely return to this lovely venue. Was an absolute wonderful evening - excellent food, good wine, great atmosphere. P.S. What a pity to only discover this jewel through a 'special'.

About Lust Bistro
Cuisine: Bistro
At the heart of Lust Bistro & Bakery is a hearth: the traditional, wood-fired brick oven where Jean Pierre Smith conjures up authentic artisan breads and all manner of delectable daily fare. Located on the beautiful Vrede en Lust wine estate, on the picturesque outskirts of Franschhoek, Lust Bistro is open for early breakfasts, late lunches and everything else in between.
The food is honest, abundant and delicious with an emphasis on simplicity and seasonal ingredients.
The décor is modern and earthy, industrial loft meets farmhouse kitchen. Choose from the àla carte menu or daily blackboard specials – and don’t forget to pick up something fresh from the bakery counter to take home.
