I had a wonderful time. I took my boyfriend out for a romantic dinner and to try something new. He enjoyed his meal thoroughly as did I. The atmosphere and service were excellent and everyone was very accommodating and professional. We had our privacy while knowing that assistance was only a moment away. It was an experience worth having and one that we will definitely repeat.

A great Saturday evening meal, from the hearty soups, calamari or very ingenious lightly spiced chicken livers, great Lamb, with 10/10 chips Mmmmm and then a naughty desert. Wine list extensive, not all overly expensive (which you do find in some) and nice you could do 250ml to try a few. Service attentive and friendly. All in all a place worth visiting once again, as it did go off a few years back as we were regulars, and now we will be regulars again.

A great Saturday lunch spent at Simon's at Groot Constantia. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, but not intrusive, which was appreciated by our group of mates. The weather was sunny and crisp - perfect for a lazy lunch outside in such a beautiful setting. The calamari starter was tender, crunchy and not too oily. However, a but more zing from the lime in the crème fraiche would have gone down well. The chicken livers were also cooked to perfection and well seasoned, as reported by the resident expert in our group. For mains, the Grecian lamb was succulent and nicely presented - the only negative comment here was that portions of lamb varied somewhat at the table. However, the meat still won the day. The line fish was kingklip so the "fishy" member of our party was very happy when it arrived looking and tasting splendid. We paired our starters with the Newton Johnson Felicite and opted for shiraz to accompany the lamb, both very nice wines.

At Simon’s we believe the quality of the meal starts with the quality of the ingredients. Fresh, seasonal and local. That’s what we believe in. Which is why we have our own kitchen garden where we grow herbs to pick fresh daily. Why we change our menu to make the most of every Cape season. Why we prefer sourcing our ingredients from producers in the Constantia valley and the Cape winelands. And why we cook every meal fresh.

If you have made a prepayment via Dineplan, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your reservation. The amount you paid in advance will be automatically refunded to your account. Refunds through Dineplan should be resolved in communication with the restaurant, and we are not directly involved in this process.

You can cancel your reservation online up to 8 hours in advance, or by phone up to 1 hour before your reservation time. However, we kindly request that you cancel as soon as you know you won't be able to make your reservation.
