If it’s alfresco dining you’re after then the deck or garden areas is the place to be, relax and enjoy the breath taking view that stretches from Chapman’s Peak across to Kommetjie or if you prefer the restaurant offers more of an intimate and cosy environment with a large fireplace for those cold rainy winter nights but if all you want is an ice cold beer and to enjoy the lasts sporting action then head on upstairs to the pub where man’s best friend is more than welcome. The Red Herring a place to sit back and relax with friends, family and pets while our dedicated staff tend to all your dining needs.


The team consists of owner, Paul, General Manager Maxine and managers Vince and Rick. They will look after your needs and ensure your visit to The Red Herring Restaurant is enjoyable and relaxing, while back in the kitchen Karen and Carol and their team ensure that things always run smoothly.

At most restaurants, you can make reservations for free and cancel them without any charge. You'll settle the bill when you dine at the restaurant. However, some restaurants may request a small deposit, and they will send a prepayment request via Dineplan to confirm your reservation.

If you have made a prepayment via Dineplan, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your reservation. The amount you paid in advance will be automatically refunded to your account. Refunds through Dineplan should be resolved in communication with the restaurant, and we are not directly involved in this process.

You can cancel your reservation online up to 8 hours in advance, or by phone up to 1 hour before your reservation time. However, we kindly request that you cancel as soon as you know you won't be able to make your reservation.
