About Hemelhuijs
For the love of food, Hemelhuijs opened its doors in October 2010. With its all black interiors and whimsical displays of fresh flowers and object trofée, the restaurant is a small oasis in the heart of Cape Town city and offers an ideal escapism from hustle and bustle.
Sit and watch the city go by while indulging in freshly made jewel coloured juices, paradisal cocktails or custom blended coffee and order from the all day menu. Jacques Erasmus and the Hemelhuijs team carefully source ingredients and interweave the flavours of childhood memories and that of the exotic.
Our menu changes twice seasonally and also features touches brought from our world travels. Our offerings are presented in generous hand crafted vessels and service is simple, attentive but relaxed.
Hemelhuijs is a daytime restaurant but we also open every Wednesday evening for dinner. The dinner menu reflects comfort and dishes that is crafted with the finest and freshest ingredients available on the day.
