I like the olde farm house style with the wood furniture. I would only recommend openening up the place towards the garden when sitting inside. For fresh cool air. Al the water features requires treatment of the water. One can smell allot of standing water when outside.

All the courses looked beautiful. The protions were good on the starter and dessert. The main course portion were too much for me and I eat quite a bit. I understand you need to plan an prepare and thats why you take the full order for all courses at the start. But then consider spacing the courses slightly appart so it gives time for a meal to settle. Maybe ask the client if they are ready for the mains after the starter.. Or would they like a bit of time. The lamb meal was tasty. I liked all the sauces. I have only one criticism - i found the lamb too fatty. Was too rich for me. Even without the fried fat cap. The fat between the meat was to much for me.
Great ambience. venue, service and cuisine. Seabass was probably the best I have ever tasted.

The delicious surprise platter for my husband's birthday was presented beautifully - and well received by my husband.
Just a pity about the confusion and the delay in our request for some brown toast or a roll at the start of the meal when we ordered wine, as I need to eat some bread when I have wine.
Further bread or toast should accompany a dish like pate!
So the constant asking after the bread was not very pleasant and the only negative on the day.
Kleinkaap is such a magnificent and well looked after property and it's always a pleasure seeing it.
Although the waitress was very friendly, the service unfortunately was very slow. We waited almost an hour from being seated until we got our main course.
Main courses were delicious. Desserts were nice but a bit disappointing.
Generally a lovely afternoon.
Beautiful setting - food was delicious and more than enough - I took my leftovers for lunch the following day! Service was excellent - will definitely return.
It was the first time I visited 16th Lintel and I will definitely be back. The staff is efficient and friendly and the food was delicious. Between courses we sat outside under the huge trees and listened to the water features while watching the ducks.

About 16th Lintel
16th Lintel Restaurant
The 16th Lintel Restaurant at Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel is all about bringing people together. Everything about this brand new restaurant resolves around its name. The vibe, the décor, the ideals and the food.
The original homestead had a total of 15 support lintels. Keeping true to the Dutch architecture, Mr Malan expanded the building to what Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel is today. With that expansion, he added extra lintels. The first lintel added (the 16th one) was the start of a new era. We saw it fit to name the new restaurant The 16th Lintel, as it too is the start of a new exciting era.
A lintel is seen as a strong, supporting, upholding architectural tool that strengthens a building. The brand new restaurant and the committed team at Kleinkaap also carry those traits. Both the restaurant and the personnel aims to support, uphold and strengthen its visitors and diners. The restaurant name can be seen as the true catalyst of everything about it and inside it.
The 16th Lintel is a place where new ventures start. Friends planning a once in a lifetime trip, business partners shaking hands on a new deal, couples enjoying wine to celebrate their love. The possibilities are infinite.
