Everything was perfection. The staff out did themselves with excellent service. Te chefs way with a Steak was flawless. Music and small details in the restaurant made a perfect anniversary dinner.

16th Lintel was on point. Choice of menu for the restaurant week was gorgeous from starter to dessert. The service was excellent. I love the museum type feel it had to it. We love every minute we spent there and will definitely be returning.

16th Lintel was a new restaurant that we wanted to try out during Restaurant week. We knew eactly where the Klein Kaap venue was, but when we got there, there was a wedding happening as well. Unfortunately there is no signage indicating where on the venue the restaurant is, so we searched and asked for a while before we got to the actual restaurant, it seemed like some of the staff also wasn't sure. It was quite awkard to search for the restaurant while there are wedding guests all around. The restaurant is right across from the wedding hall, so it is quite hard to have a romantic evening while you have wedding speeches in the background. But the service and the food was great. All the dishes were full of flavour, and for that reason we will visit again, but not over a weekend when there is a wedding happening as well.

Beautiful hotel and restaurant. The food was amazing. Dessert was probably the best I have had at a restaurant. Service great and we will definitely return to sample the rest of their menu. Thank you for a wonderful Saturday evening out.

About 16th Lintel

16th Lintel Restaurant

The 16th Lintel Restaurant at Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel is all about bringing people together. Everything about this brand new restaurant resolves around its name. The vibe, the décor, the ideals and the food.

The original homestead had a total of 15 support lintels. Keeping true to the Dutch architecture, Mr Malan expanded the building to what Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel is today. With that expansion, he added extra lintels. The first lintel added (the 16th one) was the start of a new era. We saw it fit to name the new restaurant The 16th Lintel, as it too is the start of a new exciting era.

A lintel is seen as a strong, supporting, upholding architectural tool that strengthens a building. The brand new restaurant and the committed team at Kleinkaap also carry those traits. Both the restaurant and the personnel aims to support, uphold and strengthen its visitors and diners. The restaurant name can be seen as the true catalyst of everything about it and inside it.

The 16th Lintel is a place where new ventures start. Friends planning a once in a lifetime trip, business partners shaking hands on a new deal, couples enjoying wine to celebrate their love. The possibilities are infinite.
