The restaurant week menu had great variety and the food was amazing! Staff were attentive and friendly. Overall a really enjoyable evening at a top Asian restaurant. Will go back again for sure.
What a surprise! We loved our meal at Ben Wei! 4 courses was A LOT of food but we loved that we got to experience each aspect of their Asian Fusion menu! Will definalty be back!
The starters: Deep fried calamari was over powered by the coating and the calamari flavor was lost.
2nd dish: The sushi was brilliant, would go back for this.
3rd dish: Mains were also brilliant, great flavor profile.

4th dish: Desert was not great. The coconut ice cream was completely solid and took awhile before it become soft enough to eat and was quite 'icy' and not ice cream enough. The banana spring roll was delicious but let down by the store bought ice cream that was incredibly sweet and sugary.
Staff were super friendly and the vibe of the restaurant was great. We will definitely be going back for sushi and mains when the craving for Asian food hits.
We came out to try out the food at Ben Wei after booking through Cape Town restaurant week. We were pleasantly surprised at the value for money and the taste experience!
For the first course, we had the Calamari and Prawns- both dishes were tasty, well prepared. The subtly flavours were fresh and more-ish.

For the first course, we had the Calamari and Prawns- both dishes were tasty, well prepared. The subtly flavours were fresh and more-ish.
For the sushi, we had the Sushi and Tune Rainbow rolls (8 pieces each)- fresh, tasty and more than enough to fill you up.
The first and second course came right on top of each other, but there was a little break between the 2nd and 3rd, and we were grateful- we needed it!
For the 3rd course we ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and the Beef dish. It was these dishes that made me add Ben Wei to my list of paces to pick up Asian food...the quality of the spices, proteins and overall food was great. We have not enjoyed Asian cuisine like this in a while.
We are so happy to have tried Ben Wei, will definitely be back!
For desert I enjoyed the banana chocolate springrolls, while hubby devoured the coconut ice cream.
Service was attentive and gracious.
we had an excellent experience with personal touch and will definitly come back.
