Well my steak was inedible. Tough, sinewy and just terrible quality meat. I could not eat it. If you're going to offer a 'special' like this at least try to make it memorable as surely you want people to come back and to relate the experience to others.
Our waitress Emelia was fabulous!

We visited the grand cafe and beach in granger bay for restaurant week. It was great - the waiter recommended a cocktail that was delicious and the food was fantastic. Even though the weather was a bit miserable, the experience was ver enjoyable and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Our lunch at Grand Cafe was a pleasant enough experience. Gonny, our waiter was articulate and friendly, even if a bit slow when it came to ordering - also never asking if he could refill our drinks.
The setting is a must for anybody that loves the sea. Having a view over the harbour and being able to watch the coming and goings is always enjoyable.
As for the food, it was hearty and the portions were generous. The cajun calamari starter was just spicy enough for my liking. My T-bone however did dissapoint. The cut was way too thin to allow for anything close to the medium rare temperature that I ordered. I feel that it was also quite bland, however I did enjoy the chips. On the other hand, everybody else ordered the fish and raved about how tasty it was, making me wish that I had ordered that instead. My salted caramel, popcorn and ice cream dessert with chocolate mousse was delicious.

All in all, a very enjoyable restaurant. Especially if you are looking to share the Cape Town experience with someone.

Cape Town’s favourite destination restaurant and venue, Grand Africa Café & Beach embraces a free-spirited beach café culture, nestled poignantly on the sea-front shoreline and flaunting her majestic views of the mighty Atlantic and Robben Island.

With iconic style and playful luxury, Grand captures the quintessential charm and colloquial effervescence of the bustling city vibe while offering a quaint and relaxed escape, 'a world away' in the heart of the Cape Town's social mile.
