Read full reviewMy sister and I had lunch at Neethlingshof this past Saturday as part of the autumn Restaurant week edition. It was a perfect autumn afternoon and we were offered a table outside under the oak trees. We received the warmest and friendliest welcome from our waitress. The service was excellent and we were totally mesmerized by the beautiful scenery from our table. While we were sipping on our drinks, Allan Ware, the general manager joined our table for a lovely chat.
We decided to do the two course option (main meal and dessert) and we each ordered something different so that we could also share dishes to treat ourselves to all the different flavours. For our main meal, we ordered the line fish with pea risotto and the second dish was the deboned springbok shank. The presentation was beautiful and the dishes were simply out of this world. The portion sizes were much bigger than anticipated and an absolute treat.
For dessert, we again ordered two different dishes. The one dessert was nougat parfait, beautifully presented by small jellies, honey comb, fresh flower petals and other exquisite flavours. The second dessert was called "Pomegranate posset" and tasted like pomegranate sorbet, only smoother and all the beautiful flavours melted in our mouths. All these dishes were absolute treats and I would definitely recommend Neethlingshof without hesitation.
Thank you very much for treating us to a delightful lunch, we will definitely be back for more.
Delicious beautifully presented food . Only complaint was the very slow service !
We had a wonderful lunch at Neetlingshof. Our waiter, Clint, was excellent and made sure we wanted for nothing.
The food was excellent and the views superb.
We will be back!
Sehr gutes lunch menu, optisch und geschmacklich ansprechend. Unschlagbares Preis/Leisungsverhältnis. Herzlichen Dank für die Flasche Pinotage!
As usual this is a stunning setting, beautiful atmosphere and excellent food. A lovely touch to give a bottle of wine on leaving. Would always recommend this, great value!!
