We had the most amazing lunch as part of Restaurant week - the food was exquisite and the service was outstanding with both Hilda and Brendan knowing the food and wine menus backwards. Highly recommend!

What a memorable meal, each course was beautifully presented and totally delicious. It is a pity that this restaurant is poorly supported at the lunch service (I know that it is usually fully booked in the evening). We were the only people in the restaurant which is not great for the restaurant, but we kind of liked that, hence the 5 star atmosphere rating :) I suspect that most people are a bit put off by an 8 course tasting menu for lunch, but they should not be. The portion sizes were perfect, light and so refreshing. The service was also really first class, attentive, but not in your face. This was the best meal we have had in a very long time and I would highly recommend Le Coin Francais

Real fine dining with excellent service. Atmosphere was not so good that's why Restaurant was empty. Not the fail of restaurant. Any time again for special events.

The Restaurant

The newest edition to the Franschhoek scene is a restaurant really and truly for Franschhoek. Both in concept and in name, the aptly named “Le coin Français” , which literally means Franschhoek, will embody the essence of the valley in heritage, cuisine, art and wine. It will feature cutting edge methods meeting time tested French elegance in cuisine, a carefully selected locally themed wine list to showcase the best local wines, a French sommeliers selection, and an ever evolving collaboration of art.

The Chef

Multiple award winning Chef de cuisine and owner, Darren Badenhorst will take diners on a journey through his interpretations of nostalgic food memories encompassing “art on a plate” and leading them through a unique culinary exploration of flavours, textures and interactive creations.

1. Do I need to pay upfront?

At most restaurants, you can make reservations for free and cancel them without any charge. You'll settle the bill when you dine at the restaurant. However, some restaurants may request a small deposit, and they will send a prepayment request via Dineplan to confirm your reservation.

5. How can I change my reservation?

7. Is cancellation free?

Yes, you can always cancel for free.

If you have made a prepayment via Dineplan, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your reservation. The amount you paid in advance will be automatically refunded to your account. Refunds through Dineplan should be resolved in communication with the restaurant, and we are not directly involved in this process.

8. Until when can I cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation online up to 8 hours in advance, or by phone up to 1 hour before your reservation time. However, we kindly request that you cancel as soon as you know you won't be able to make your reservation.

9. What is Restaurant Week South Africa?

During Restaurant Week South Africa, you can indulge in a fabulous 3-course dinner at over 140 of the finest restaurants in South Africa, starting at ZAR 295.00 per person. Restaurant Week South Africa is held twice a year, in Autumn and Spring.
