We are always on the look out for a great culinary experience and we were particularly drawn to the NCW menu from the array of choices Restaurant week afforded us.

For us, it is important to have a good and fair blend between service, cuisine and ambience. If one lacks then the entire experience is tainted. We were greeted with a glass of bubbly and waited in a beautiful area to be seated.
The team took excellent care of us by blending food with theatre and explaining each course as it was presented to us. Every course was a delight to the senses and beautifully presented and appreciated.
The wine selection was impeccable and beautifully paired with each course. There were a few South African wines we had previously not tried and were pleasantly surprised with each one.
Thank you to the team at NCW. We love your passion for your craft and making our dining experience a memorable one.
We were treated like special guests from arrival to departure.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful old building and was restored with much care.

Every dish was wonderfully prepared and interesting and paired very well with each wine that was selected. It was great to chat to the chef who served some of the dishes during the afternoon.
A really special experience
It was the most fabulous experience ever , The food was just to delicious, we enjoyed each and every bite , the staff and the chef , sweetest ever , definitely going back there .
We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. Course 1 and 2 were amazing but unfortunately from there it went a bit downhill. The salad course was especially disappointing; a shaving of cucumber, 2 rosa tomatoes cut in half, 1 olive cut in half and some smoked feta?
In all, I think the menu is overpriced at R500 pp.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and the ambience was lovely.
You would never guess that this restaurant is only 2 years old! Everything about it made it seem like they’ve been in the industry for years. I love the open kitchen so diners can see the chefs at work. Will definitely return and definitely recommend.

About NCW Restaurant
Cuisine: Fine Dining
NCW Restaurant
Chef Ence Willemse, who has previously worked at award-winning restaurants Roots in Krugersdorp and Overture in Stellenbosch, has opened a new restaurant in Melville called NCW. In addition to the boutique eatery with a seasonal menu, NCW will offer a space for cocktail parties, exhibitions and pop-ups.
The style of food might be labelled fine dining, but Ence calls it ‘food with a story’. Part of that story is a focus on the provenance of the ingredients he uses, from the farm to his kitchen. This philosophy extends to the wine offering, each bottle of which has a great story to tell.
The Edwardian building that houses the restaurant overlooking Main Road in Melville has been lovingly restored. The chef lives in another restored residence on the property. This venue has been hard-won: Ence even put in a blue-collar stint to raise the capital he needed to bring NCW to life.
