We loved the restaurant, it is so beautiful. The decor is gorgeous. The food for the most part was lovely and delicious, the main was a major let down and my dessert was half hearted, however my dinner guests dessert was well executed. The pairing was lovely. We will be back

The food was a mindblowingly amazing food experience. Every meal was presented so beautifully and tasted like heaven - the incredible flavors, textures, it was a perfect combination. The mushroom amush bush, pea soup and basil ice cream - I think my favourite dish, chicken, sweet potato, lentils, olives next meal was yum, the prawn risotto, chick pea salad, creme brûlée and salted caramel. Or was dessert my favourite? I still can’t decide but it was a brilliant dinning experience. The restaurant is lovely, cosy and elegant just made the experience even more perfect. Thank you NCW for a fantastic restaurant week experience - this was more than I expected. Thanks

It is truly a great culinary experience. For me personally the star of the show was the Pea Soup. Every spoon had a different experience. The roast chicken was excellent. I don't normally like chicken breast as it can be dry, but this one was really succulent. The service is great with very friendly staff. I selected the wine pairing option with my menu and will definitely recommend this. We will keep on going back !
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at NCW. The food was delicious, the wine pairing was phenomenal and the staff were incredibly friendly. 1 point lost on cuisine as we felt one or two dishes could have pushed the envelope a bit more. We would definitely return to this little gem!

About NCW Restaurant
Cuisine: Fine Dining
NCW Restaurant
Chef Ence Willemse, who has previously worked at award-winning restaurants Roots in Krugersdorp and Overture in Stellenbosch, has opened a new restaurant in Melville called NCW. In addition to the boutique eatery with a seasonal menu, NCW will offer a space for cocktail parties, exhibitions and pop-ups.
The style of food might be labelled fine dining, but Ence calls it ‘food with a story’. Part of that story is a focus on the provenance of the ingredients he uses, from the farm to his kitchen. This philosophy extends to the wine offering, each bottle of which has a great story to tell.
The Edwardian building that houses the restaurant overlooking Main Road in Melville has been lovingly restored. The chef lives in another restored residence on the property. This venue has been hard-won: Ence even put in a blue-collar stint to raise the capital he needed to bring NCW to life.
