It was an extraordinary experience. The service was excellent. The food was a incredible experience with such a wide variety of flavours and textures. Each exquisitely presented.
I would definitely visit again and share the experience with others.
We were greeted with MCC at the door and taken on a tour of the beautiful venue, adorned with amazing art and views.

We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairing. The meals all progressed well and complimented each other. It was a story board of dishes that worked together to create a great meal instead of a bunch of stars dishes trying to outshine each other.
We liked that there was only 1 dessert, and the way the cheese dish was presented was absolutely brilliant. All the wines paired well with the dishes, except the last one which did no pair with the cheese at all. The wine actually tasted sour after the sweet wine and dish before. Overall an amazing experience from a restaurant we didnt know about. Will definitely be going back
It was a wonderful experience and will surely visit again

I can only fault them slightly on their food. The complimentary bread assortment was a great start, followed by a tasty bean tostada bite. The next two starter courses were a bit of a miss though, as the experimental cauliflower soup and mushroom ice cream I found a bit odd tasting and the ceviche was quite average. They made up for this with the rest of the courses, a tasty beetroot risotto and a tender quail dish. The dessert courses were definitely the highlight of the meal. For a fine dining experience I would have preferred the more experimental dishes to be a highlight, but the safer dishes definitely won out. Overall it was a great experience for restaurant week.
Eating at NCW has been my best culinary experience to date. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. Value for money and a place I would recommend to anyone.

About NCW Restaurant
Cuisine: Fine Dining
NCW Restaurant
Chef Ence Willemse, who has previously worked at award-winning restaurants Roots in Krugersdorp and Overture in Stellenbosch, has opened a new restaurant in Melville called NCW. In addition to the boutique eatery with a seasonal menu, NCW will offer a space for cocktail parties, exhibitions and pop-ups.
The style of food might be labelled fine dining, but Ence calls it ‘food with a story’. Part of that story is a focus on the provenance of the ingredients he uses, from the farm to his kitchen. This philosophy extends to the wine offering, each bottle of which has a great story to tell.
The Edwardian building that houses the restaurant overlooking Main Road in Melville has been lovingly restored. The chef lives in another restored residence on the property. This venue has been hard-won: Ence even put in a blue-collar stint to raise the capital he needed to bring NCW to life.
