Overall stunning experience! I would’ve loved to have a seat at the food bar to see how the chefs make the food though but I guess because we were 3 people this could not have been accommodated for. Our waiter Wendy was lovely! We had a good time:-)
We thoroughly enjoyed every moment from our courses, the attentive and friendly staff, to chefs explaining the beautifully presented courses etc. The octopus with pork belly was absolutely great.
We savored every flavor filled bite with every course.
Definitely worth going to Protege.
We had a lovely meal the only disappointment was the Korean chicken stuffed with a prawn. It was a bit dry and I wasn’t expecting a bone to be left in so took a mouthful of chicken bone which was a bit unpleasant. All the other courses where beautiful and delicious.
Amazing!!
The best dining experience. Impeccable service with attention to every detail. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The presentation of the food is an art form itself. I savored every flavour filled bite.

About Protégé
Protégé is an exciting new casual fine dining eatery under the guidance of previous Eat Out Chef of the Year, La Colombe’s Scot Kirton.
Scot is proud to be part of the process of recognising young talented chefs and giving them the opportunity to put themselves on the map. In keeping with this, the restaurant was aptly named Protégé.
Jess van Dyk will head the kitchen team. Jess has been working closely with Scot and James Gaag for many years and was most recently the head chef at La Colombe.
The idea with Protégé is to keep it casual and comfortable. Jess is working with local suppliers to keep the menu as fresh and as seasonal as possible. “I could not be prouder of having Jess lead the team. She has given me so much over the years and now it’s time for me to help her achieve her dreams.” says Kirton.
