Fantastic meal and evening.
Amazing food - each course a journey. I chose the wine tasting menu, it was perfect. Each course was superb, starter was flavourful, lamb was soft and tasty and dessert was a dream!

Read full reviewLovely greeting from Fezi, and delicious 6 course menu with some lovely drama and surprises. We had trouble hearing and understanding the waiter and waitresses descriptions of the food possibly due to the restaurant being so busy. Our table was sticky / tacky which I think was due to the furniture oil / polish that they use on the wood. A Tablecloth would go a long way to helping that. And finally we had to ask for our wine glasses to be refilled on 2 occasions. A busy night so all is forgiven and we would definitely return.
We had a fantastic time at Protege, as always! And our waitress was amazing, she was half of the fantastic experience! (The manager can learn a lot from her)
We went last restaurant week and are happy we made a stop this time too!

About Protégé
Protégé is an exciting new casual fine dining eatery under the guidance of previous Eat Out Chef of the Year, La Colombe’s Scot Kirton.
Scot is proud to be part of the process of recognising young talented chefs and giving them the opportunity to put themselves on the map. In keeping with this, the restaurant was aptly named Protégé.
Jess van Dyk will head the kitchen team. Jess has been working closely with Scot and James Gaag for many years and was most recently the head chef at La Colombe.
The idea with Protégé is to keep it casual and comfortable. Jess is working with local suppliers to keep the menu as fresh and as seasonal as possible. “I could not be prouder of having Jess lead the team. She has given me so much over the years and now it’s time for me to help her achieve her dreams.” says Kirton.
