Read full reviewThe DoubleTree by Hilton has a truly eclectic style. The decor is strangely minimalist yet flamboyant with bright colours but no clutter. The bar with the striped wallpaper is pleasing to the eye. The service is impeccable and the waiters seem to be very familiar with the dishes. The food was of course why we were there but that which preceded set the tone. For starters, my fellow diner and I both enjoyed the Pea, chevin and bacon risotto and we were quite surprised when we saw the portion size, which was huge. Definitely not what one would expect for a starter. For the course, again we enjoyed the Teriyaki braised beef shortrib, which was perfectly prepared. The crisped kale was salty and crunchy and probably my favourite part of all the meals, I wish they had given more. I'm not one to waste my dessert but the starter had filled me to the brim and I was therefore unable finish the Chef's Tiramisu. The Tiramisu was had everything that makes it traditionally tiramisu but the espresso flavour was complimented by the spicey touch of Tonka beans, although the Disaronna Ameretto was a little overwhelming. My friend had the Lemon curd creme brulee tart which was perfect. Not too sweet, not too lemony, all that you might miss when indulging in the beautifully presenting dessert if the crunchy brulee but the hazelnut praline added a little crunchiness to this perfect balance of flavours. Again the portion size was quite satisfying to say the least. Overall, Liberty's comes highly recommended. Great value for money.
We enjoyed a great meal @ LIbertiy's Restaurant. Pleasantly surprised. Good portions, attentive service and good value for money. We will be back!
The food was delicious! the portions were surprisingly big.
Really enjoyed the experience
Food was outstanding and beautifully presented.
Booked for lunch, however was charged the dinner price (R300 per head).
Restaurant manager informed me that the restaurant did not serve the Restaurant Week lunch -this upon receiving the bill.
I find this unacceptable.
The starter (pea, bacon and goat cheese) was amazing, the main was good, but I was very disappointed by the desert...
The service was good and helpful.
They just forgot to apply the restaurant week discount on the bill, which has been corrected after having noticed it.
