From the moment you walk in, it felt like home. The atmosphere was like a walk through history.
The food a unique blend of culinary tradition.
All great except the dining hall area could be closed in a bit more to create intimacy. The tour of the house was a great bonus!

The former President Mandela's home is lovely, what was reserved & what was renovated finds such serene reconciliation with each other. There is a quite magic of experiencing history whilst enjoying the modern.
The food at the Insights restaurant inside was amazing. We had the restaurant week three course menu inspired by Tata's favourites. Each plate was gorgeous & more importantly delicious. The service from our waiter was sweet & full of knowledge, especially evidenced when he took us on a tour of the house. There is no doubt that I will ensure to go back to enjoy the everyday menu.
If anyone gets the opportunity to visit the Sanctuary Mandela - grab it! It would be shortest & softest journey in and out of history accompanied by gorgeous gorgeous dining.
Excellent
Tour of the home and history of the hotel - very special. Attention to detail from all the staff was exceptional.

About Insights Restaurant
Cuisine: Fine Dining
In Nelson Mandela’s household, food was more than sustenance. It was about tradition, family, home, sharing, and enjoying meals with those he loved.
In memory of his love for food, our fine dining restaurant serves as a tribute to his favourite dishes as previously prepared by his long-time personal chef, Xoliswa Ndoyiya.
