From the moment you walk in Bakka restaurant has their service game on point. They were attentive and their food was tasty. It's definitely a place I would visit again.
We opted to visit this popular restaurant in the Menlyn Park Shopping Centre. The bright, vibey décor and smooth R&B music could easily make you forget the hustle and bustle of the shoppers around you.

We were greeted and waited on by the very friendly and courteous young Bongo, who ensured that our first visit was a memorable one.
While contemplating their menu we were treated to a complimentary serving of flat breads served with chakalaka butter. The spicy butter was a refreshing combination with the crispy flap jack style breads.
For starters we enjoyed their Curry Fish and Biltong starter.
The mild curry was made with good quality fish and well prepared. This was served with a crisp miniature vetkoek and topped with fresh julienned carrots, cucumbers, and cilantro.
The Beef Biltong dust, served on a crisp butter fried slice of toast and topped with atchar was an equally fresh and tasty combination. This was served with beautifully thin crispy potato skins.
Before our mains were served, we were surprised by a very unique palate cleanser. A strawberry Nesquick granita with toasted desecrated coconut. Innovative, tasty and refreshing.
For mains we shared their Oxtail and Sirloin.
The Sirloin was perfectly prepared medium rare as ordered, and very succulent with a very tasty home made blatjang sauce.
This was served with a heavenly slice of grilled pumpkin (this must have been slow roasted for hours), along with halved and lightly grilled baby onions and crispy onion rings.
The Oxtail, which fell off the bone (as it should), was equally delicious. This was served on samp and beans and finished with freshly prepared baby carrots and a mix of micro greens.
Both mains were beautifully prepared and presented. This combined with the excellent service ensured that we had a great evening.
Great variety of food. We really enjoyed the evening
food was delicious
Very good food and service, however, not fine dining. Also, it is inside a mall which takes away the element of exclusivity.
