Read full reviewThis was my first time booking for restaurant week and Morii’s menu stood out as we have not had scallops in a while. If you have never been there, the restaurant is a bit tricky to find, nestled inside the Vineyard Hotel, but once inside the atmosphere is calm, relaxing and beautiful. We went at night so we couldn’t really see the gardens.
Greeted by lovely staff and assisted by amazing waitresses Thembi. Everyone was very attentive. 10/10 for all staff.
We didn’t have any wine as my partner and I aren’t big drinkers, he opted for a beer and i had a Grapefruit Martini, honestly the best cocktail i have had in a while, i had two!! 😅 he also had a honey caipirinha, i had a taste, but it was stong! (Good, but strong)
We started off with a complementary flat bread and two Lebanese dips, so so yummy, we did prefer the garlic dip.
For starters we both opted for the scallops as these were the deciding factor on the restaurant, and they were cooked to perfection, served with a corn chowder, the dish was rich and very flavorful. For a palate cleanser we received a kiwi mint sorbet and wow wow, i could have a few bowls of that on a hot summers day!
My partner opted for the beef short rib which he thoroughly enjoyed, i had a taste of the short rib and it was very tasty. I opted for the linefish served with beetroot gnocchi and radishes, absolutely delicious!
For dessert he opted for the Fyn Boss Honey Bavarois which he said was absolutely delicious. I had the Yuzu and Lemon Crème Tart, i was a bit nervous with my choice as I generally don’t eat a lot of food in one sitting and i was afraid this night be too much, but although i was well stuffed by the time the dessert arrived, i was pleasantly surprised, it was the perfect size little tart, perfect to round off an amazing dinner! We got some complimentary petit fours and Lebanese tea with our dessert. I couldn’t finish every dish, only because I wanted to eat of everything and I probably would have been full after the scallops, but we both had such an amazing dinner. Thank you to each person that attended to us last night, we will be back and will bring some family along 🙏
Food was excellent, presentation was amazing - lots of effort gone into making it look good on the plates. Desserts were a little over sweet. Our waiter was very helpful, friendly and competent. We, however, found the cost of drinks (water and wine) extremely over priced.
The food and service were excellent, we will definitely come back again.
Wonderful romantic setting matched with superb service and unique delectable food choices.
Superb, a great evening. Everything was perfection.
