Read full reviewWe have been looking forward to trying this new spot based on what appears to be a lovely menu, so two friends who are professionally trained chefs and I booked. Lovely decor. Some great overpriced cocktail choices. The best edamame I’ve ever had and a lovely squid. The highlight was fantastic ceviche with a stunning smoked jalapeño but sadly they only gave us the portion for two to share amongst the three of us which was a tremendous disappointment. Everything went downhill from there. Two very unimpressive, tofu dishes in a row that clearly underscored the value of the meal. The courses were rushed although there were only 2 other seatings in the Venu and it was 15:00 in the afternoon. Presentation was creative but food was mediocre. For this price point and in a city like Cape Town with such amazing dining options, sadly we can’t say this is one we’d recommend to our International travelers guests working in tourism or friends or colleagues. Hope they can adjust their game!
Great food experience and great atmosphere!
