We booked a three course lunch with wine pairing during restaurant week.
The chef surprised us with a 4 course exquisite platters.
The sommelier elevated the wine experience to a next level.
The service was obliging.

We had an absolutely superb meal - the 7-course tasting menu - Chef Matt van der Berg's food passion shines. The service from being welcomed at the door, right through our dining experience, to being bid farewell. We will be eating at Mertia's again!

Wow! We had an unforgettable dinner at Mertia! The hearty welcome, gorgeous decor, perfect attention to detail to our needs and the gastronomic experience was superb! The newest star on the Western Cape’s fine dining landscape sees two sons of Stellenbosch unite to bring MERTIA back to the second oldest town in South Africa.

Named after owner and founder Marais Kirsten-Uys’ grandmother, she taught him that anything worth doing is worth doing well. You can cancel your reservation online up to 8 hours in advance, or by phone up to 1 hour before your reservation time. However, we kindly request that you cancel as soon as you know you won't be able to make your reservation.
