Everything deserves a ten! We didn't know about this restaurant until we saw this 'to good tto be true' menu on dinecity's facebook. We were all pleasantly surprised by every dish and the professional approach. The wines were also perfectly in balance with the dishes! We'll be back and make sure to tell all our friends.
We are regular visitors of this wonderful restaurant. Only by looking at the new menu I would love to make a reservation. Now only to book the flight first! Keep up the good work and we always spread the word.

The buildiong is almost a 100 years old and has a beautiful, almost magical ambience. The soft light coming from a large metal chandelier, candles and a fireplace next to our table warmed the room and played with the bold wall paper.
We were served by proffessional, attentive and friendly waiters.
The food was outstanding. We had a 6 course meal - each dish was made to perfection and was a taste adventure. The attention to detail and combinations of flavours resulted in absolute sensory pleasure. The size of each course was just right so we felt deeply satisfied (and sad it was over) at the end.
After tasting these dishes I would 100% trust to order absolutely anything on La Mouette's menu and be treated each time.

ABOUT LA MOUETTE RESTAURANT
Henry Vigar, the chef patron of La Mouette, spent a number of years making a name for himself as an up-and-coming young chef in fine cuisine in London. After also working in Australia and France, and a number of other UK based top-ranked and Michelin starred establishments, Henry settled as head chef at Kensington Place in London’s affluent Notting Hill.
It was here in 2008 that he met Mari Vermaak (now Vigar), a colleague with a passion for the industry and a dream to one day own her own restaurant. Two years, two resignations, one engagement and two one-way tickets to South Africa later, saw the couple settle in the sunshine of Seapoint, Cape Town, to begin their new venture. The couple fell in love with a beautiful old building on Regent Road which once belonged to the mayor of Cape Town’s family. Captivated by its size and beauty, they quickly decided to make the building, home to their dream of owning their own restaurant. Calling on their good friend Gerrit Bruwer who also had a dream of being a part of the restaurant world, they signed the lease for 78 Regent Road, Sea Point in February 2010 and quite suddenly the dreams of all three were realised where they opened to trade on the 6th of May 2010.

La Mouette offers seasonally inspired menus which change regularly. We pride ourselves on showcasing only the best of local producers and Chef Henry take great pride in sourcing these ingredients – respecting the seasons as we go. La Mouette not only offers ever changing menus, but prides itself on the meticulous selection of complimentary wines carefully selected by our in-house wine list consultant.
La Mouette restaurant is housed in an original feature tudor home and has 2 floors, 4 dining rooms, 6 fireplaces, a bar / lounge area as well as a cobblestone courtyard outside – perfect for cozy winter dining by the fire or summer dining al fresco under the stars.
