Loved the food, each course was exquisite. Just found our waiter to be slightly off the ball, with things like drinks and the bill taking ages to come. But that really is just splitting hairs - overall a very pleasant experience!
Great service and beautiful & tasty food from start to finish with their spring lunch menu. Worth a 2 star Michelin restaurant in Europe at least

The service was wonderful, we were thoroughly tended to and all staff were eloquent and knowledgeable.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and we had a beautiful day so the window seat was perfect.
The food was immaculately presented and served. Everything looked divine.

I also enjoyed that the first 2 courses (appetizers and bread course) were encouraged to be eaten with your hands.
Those courses were surprising and beautiful the eat.
I did however find the seaweed daaltjie to be a little oily but that was a small thought amongst the others. The quail egg was amazing and the octopus curry was increadible with the temperature difference. The curry flavour was also intense but not overpowering and left no aftertaste which was admirable from the chefs side.
The starters were fresh and every bite was perfectly balanced.
The springbok starter had the perfect texture and the fish started was very moreish.
This is where the foodbexperience took a little dip unfortunately. With such a wonderful expectation set up from the previous courses, the mains had high hopes.
They were by all accounts, beautiful dishes. It's also very admirable of the chef to create a dish (waterless fish) using no water to comment on the current water crisis in Cape Town.
They were just a little underwhelming on the flavour front. Just compared to the previous courses that had bursts of flavour.
Finally, my favourite, dessert cake and again was expertly presented. The liquid panacotta was a unexpected and welcomed bit of theatre that was really fun.
The almond ice cream was brilliantly smooth and the chocolate square was creamy and filled that chocolate hit.
I also appreciated the last gift to say thank you from the restaurant, 3 small "canapé" style desserts.
The apple and cinnamon jelly was like eating apple pie but without the pastry. Very well done.
Overall, a brilliant experience.
Everything was just perfect. The food is perfectly prepared and delicious. The service is expert and friendly. We left feeling pampered and happy.
