As always we were warmly greeted and well looked after by the friendly waiters and Manager, Ken.
While enjoying the fresh air outside we decided on the Tapas to try.

While enjoying the fresh air outside we decided on the Tapas to try.
A diner has the option to choose 6 or 10 Tapas to feast on, with the selection spreading from the vegetarian to carnivorous to sweet and decadent.
For starters we selected:
• Mini Tofu Caprese. This bite consisted of fresh tomato, slices of tofu, topped with lovely basil pesto and was a fresh and flavourful twist on the more traditional Caprese (with Buffalo Mozzarella).
• Arancini. This was a risotto ball with mushrooms, parmesan, and buffalo ball mozzarella, and was packed with flavour. Deep dried and drenched in a lovely truffle infused sauce, this is one of my personal favourites.
• Gnocchi Tomato & Basil Pesto. The well-prepared gnocchi, served with a lovely fragrant and lite sauce.
• Gorgonzola Gnocchi. Equally well-prepared gnocchi. Served with a creamy cheese sauce, with subtle hints of gorgonzola.
For our mains we chose:
• Smoked duck. This was delicious. The slices of duck were tender with a great smoky flavour. This was served with mung beans and a rocket salad, complimenting the duck.
• Sticky smoked BBQ chicken. This chicken was soft and flavourful, served with pineapple
• Pork Belly Bite. The pork was char grilled, with a nice crisp edge and served on a bed of mash.
• Hot Thai green chicken curry. This is a flavour treat for anyone loves Thai food. Fragrantly spicy, with beautiful notes of coconut and chili. This was served on wild & brown rice.
Instead of desserts, we selected 4 more of the savoury Tapas on the menu (to make sure we didn’t miss anything).
• Herbed Meatball & Linguini. The meatball, although being lite was well seasoned with herbs. This was served with some al dente linguini in a lite tomato sauce.
• Grilled calamari. Soft, melt in your mouth calamari tubes served in a sweet & spicy oriental dressing.
• Grilled Hake Goujon. The hake was perfectly grilled crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. This was served with a smooth and fresh lemon grass cream.
• Beef Fillet al Fiume. This bite of fillet was topped with rocket, parmesan, and a balsamic reduction. Each component contributing towards enhancing the flavour of the Beef fillet.
This restaurant is always a great choice for anyone who needs a lazy afternoon in the sun, and enjoy the company of loved ones.
Their tasting menu was delicious
OMW, the tapa menu was amazing. We were able to try a variety of dishes that are on their main menu and everything was just delicious.
A little bit of a drive from Centurion but so so worth it.
We had the loveliest tappas dinner at Al Fiume. It was a cullinary adventure that left us feeling smiling and satisfied. Looking forward to doing it again.
Very nice setting, good food and service

About Al Fiume
Cuisine: Mediterranean, Italian
Al Fiume - Italian for 'at the river' - has all the ingredients for a great restaurant: a beautiful setting on a shady wooden deck on the banks of the Hennops River and a restaurateur with a passion for food, as well as the experience to ensure outstanding levels of service. Al Fiume serves food that lives up to our definition of quality: the season's best, cooked with skill and passion and presented with a minimum of fuss.
The cellar at Al Fiume is stocked with a diverse choice of Italian and South African wines. The selection includes everyday drinking wines and wines for special occasions; wines from some of South Africa's best-known estates and unusual wines from smaller estates.
Al Fiume is a restaurant for all seasons: long, lazy summer days on the wooden deck; bright spring days when the first signs of green are starting to appear on the trees overhanging the river; bracing winter days when you might want to work off your meal with a brisk walk over the bridge and cozy autumn days when you can sit snugly in the restaurant and watch the falling leaves floating down the river.
