The service was perfect and the staff very friendly and trained.
The food ordered was excellent. My only regret was that we didn't have option to choose for the desert - only one selection...
The table by the fire was comfy, but the music was maybe too loud at my taste.
The food was very well presented and the flavours were good.
The wine pairing also complemented the food.
The service was attentive and good - but not overpowering !
The venue and layout also good
Absolutely delighted with this hidden gem. The staff ensures a pleasurable experience, the food is a culinary delight, exceptional amuse-bouche prawn dish, pok belly, duck and sea bass flavourful and tastefully presented. The ambiance is relaxing and subtly romantic. We had a lovely evening.
By far the best meal ever, 6 course fine dining menu with additional amuse bouche, pallet cleanser and home made sweets....
Smaller intimate restaurant, excellent service and never waited for courses.
On Sat 04 May, I took part in the Restaurant Week 6-Course Tasting Menu ....which in effect ended up being 10!! Certainly cannot complain about the quantity for money in this high end establishment. Certainly cannot complain about the quantity for money in this high end establishment. Delightful staff, and my server was absolutely clued up on every dish and each of the elements. They have fabulous menus, the food presentation was lovely, as expected for this caliber restaurant. The starters and main tasted nice, but the real talent lies in the Amazing Pastry Chef *****

About Dash Restaurant & Bar
Dash Restaurant and Bar
While Dash caters to guests of the Queen Victoria Hotel, it is also a stand-alone restaurant and bar that encourages patrons from near and far to enjoy its delectable cuisine. The bar is the perfect after-work drinks venue, with an extensive selection of single-malt whiskies and wines. The gleaming mirror ceilings and double-sided fireplace enhance the prevailing sense of wonder, together with the panoramic view in front of you.
The menu at Dash is beautifully curated by the newly appointed Head Chef, Ashraf Arendse. The inspiration behind his new menu was the use of simple ingredients paired with bold flavours, presented in a striking manner. This makes for an unmissable dining experience.
The interiors of Dash complement the sense of drama achieved with the contents of the uneven, oval-shaped plates. The artwork is supplied by the Everard Read Gallery across from the Portswood precinct and every few months it is replaced with new work by local artists. The parquet wooden flooring, black leather seats, quirky black Gregor Jenkin tables, and other-worldly mirrored wall unite to create an intimate and provocative space. We believe that going out to dine should be a formal occasion and have a theatrical element to it. Between the aesthetically pleasing dishes and the dramatic interiors of Dash, this principle is expertly executed.
