R150 for corkage and R65 for a bottle of still water is a bit steep. But the food and service was on point

We were warmly greeted at the door and served by the gracious Natasha throughout our visit.
We were presented with a complimentary Amuse-bouche, a lovely refreshing bite sized titbits of red pepper gelatine and pesto.
Next followed a serving of fresh home-baked bread, tasty poppy seed rolls, and seed bread, served with whipped butter, herb butter and a very fragrant lemon olive oil.
For our staters we selected the classic French Onion Soup and a Kingklip Ceviche.
The traditional French onion soup might have originated as an everyday man’s meal but has become a classic delicacy – and it does not get better than the French Onion Soup at Brasserie.
Tasty, perfectly seasoned and cooked for hours, this soup was served topped with a crostini & Emmenthal and was divine.
The ceviche was, on contrast, very delicate and understatedly refreshing, served with the citrus pickled radish, onion and ginger. This was served with crisp Melba toast.
For mains we selected the Beef and Salmon Salad.
The Beef Fillet was perfectly prepared medium rare as ordered and served with a creamy Bearnaise sauce. On the side were Dauphinoise potatoes and crisp French Beans. Perfectly prepared, lite, and tasty.
The Salmon Niçoise Salad, consisted of Norwegian Salmon (perfectly prepared as ordered); fresh salad greens, Kalamata Olives, Tomato & onions, French Beans and a Boiled Egg.
Each component fresh and tasty, while forming a great meal sensation when combined.
For dessert we selected their Crème Brule & the Eton Mess.
The Crème Brule was creamy with subtle with notes of Vanilla and the perfect crispness of the sugar topping.
The Eton Mess, which was a mixture of fresh berries; meringue, berry coulis and cream was a wonderful combination of layers of flavour and textures, albeit after such a rich meal it was a bit too sweet for my taste.
But before we left we were presented with another complimentary desert Amuse-bouche consisting of a coconut panna cotta and a walnut brittle.
With each component of each meal, you could feel and taste the loving care that had gone into every highly skilled aspect of the dish.
Again, a superb visit.
