The lux platter for two was a total flop! When the order came to the table it was a platter for two, not the lux! Langoustines were missing, they had no oysters, no crayfish, calamari heads were covered by curshed black pepper and the hake (which they did not have and which made us laugh that a fish restaurant has no hake, the most common fish in South Africa) was replaced by flimsy thin over salty basa trips (I thought it was wet socks, clearly the salt had something to hide?).
On our request we asked to replace whichever was missing on the platter (basically almost everything) but that was not possible. The langoustines and I quote 'are too expensive' and the crayfish takes too long to cook (huh, crayfish takes 10 - 12 minutes!). Basically the Blowfish is what is supposed to be an upmarket Ocean Basket, hence Ocean Basked is 1/3 of the price and to our experience more tasty.
We really think that they planned this as we orderded a platter which they could not provide yet rocked up at the table with something we did not order. There were langoustines and crayfish on display in the cooling counter!
The restaurant manager, must have had the 2018/19 New Year's Eve hangover as we only seen him when arriving and when leaving, for the rest the friendly waitress had to sort the mess out. Hip hip, we got a 25% discount for a dish we never wanted!
The Blowfish BLEW it! This restaurant is only a shadow of what it used to be!
Of the 3 restaurants we visited in Restaurant Week, Blowfish was the one to 'blow' us away.
The dishes offered were different from the norm.

WILL be returning to try other things we saw on the menu!!
The food was amazing and lived up to all our expectations. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you want good fish.
I was really disappointed with the fact that you were given NO choices with the restaurant week menu (spicy calamari and gnocchi were your only options for the 2 course meal). That is really pathetic. As a result we actually turned down the restaurant week menu and were forced to use the standard menu where we obviously ended up paying a lot more. The fish was also not very fresh and the lemon looked like it was off. Not a good dining experience at all.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smile and from then on no request was met with any hesitation. Even when asked to extend our table for last minute additions this was no hassle at all.

Everyone knows that some times deciding on the perfect bottle of wine can be a task, this was made much easier by our helpful waitress offering a taste of the wines on the menu to ensure we did not order some thing we may dislike.
Having been lucky enough to travel and sample some of the best sushi around the globe I can honestly say I had no complaints, from presentation to freshness. It was melt in your mouth.
Finally one can only say that the view is to die for, what better way to spend an evening with friends - staring at our beautiful mountain while the sunsets. Spectacular!
Thank you for a wonderful and memorable evening!
