Took my son for a Birthday lunch buffet on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised at the quiet peaceful surroundings. Food was excellent.
Desserts were delicious.Best place in Durban if you're into buffet style meals. Will be back soon . Keep up the good work guys.
On 21 February 2015 I made a reservation for dinner at the Saffron restaurant. Upon arrival, I gave my name to the guy at the front desk.
He instructed me to pay R560 and said, "That is the charge for dinner",.
I was unsure why I was being charged up front but paid the R560 as demanded.

I was led to believe that the amount was charged up front and then the balance would be returned after dinner.
A waitress seated us and we ordered off the menu.
I was not aware that there was a buffet dinner. After dinner the waitress handed me a bill of R318. I was puzzled because I had already paid for dinner.
When I queried, I was informed that I had paid for the buffet, which nobody had informed me about.
I called the Manager on duty, Navin. He apologised and asked the guy at the front desk to fill out a refund form.
The guy at the front desk insisted that I was at fault and became very rude to me.
The Manager apologised to me and assured me that my R560 would be refunded by 25 February.
This has not happened. Every time I call in at the restaurant I am told that the money will be refunded in a few days and nothing happens.
I am appalled at the service at Saffron restaurant.
AN absolutely brilliant buffet, go hungry because there is so much to eat, you have to try everything!!!! This is a must do restaurant if you live in Durban, you will not be sorry!!! The prawn and fish buffet is a decadent culinary delight.
