With sufficient, secure parking, ideal views of the beach, Shark Rock Pier and beyond and the ever emerging need for a fresh, fine dining establishment along the beachfront, came the ideal opportunity to move from The Bell Restaurant, established in 1963, and build a restaurant for the public that was a fusion between elegant chic and contemporary fine fare.
Ginger does not claim to be a new trendy hot spot in Port Elizabeth, but rather places it’s emphasis on having a fresh take on traditional fine dining, by catering to the up and coming young businessperson to the more mature adult.
Ginger invites their diners to sip their drinks on the deck while relaxing to the sounds and sight of the sea, before either moving inside for their meal, or being served in situ. Indoors, the lower dining area, with its stunning parquet floor, surrounds a central bar, while the upper, carpeted area is adjacent to the open plan kitchen. But wherever one chooses to sit, the views are beautiful, the service is top-rate and the food is a taste bud experience.
