We went for dinner to La Vie en Rose and were seated under beautiful trees, with little fires burning as it was a windy and chilly evening. The outdoors area is beautiful and we felt that lunch under the shady trees would be a lovely experience!
Having said that, dinner was great too. For restaurant week, two options were presented to the diners. Option 1 had an ostrich carpaccio for starters and beef medallions with baby potatoes for the mains. Option 2 had mushrooms topped with spinach and Camembert for starters and a spicy beef burger for mains. The food was delicious. Both the starters and the mains were presented beautifully and tasted divine. The beef medallions were the softest i have ever had.
The only drawback we felt was that for both options, the mains were beef. Could have had a different choice of protein especially as some people may not eat beef.
Another thing was that the dessert was brought to share. Since all the dishes were served separately, we felt that this was a tad off putting. However, the white chocolate phyllo was to die for!

"Not for cold evenings"

It was very cold and windy and as such quite uncomfortable, even wrapped in blankets and the heater. I will give the place another chance on a sunny day as I suspect the charme is in the garden and sitting outside.

The food was good though the Restaurant Week choices were limited to beef in both options.

Service was average.

Delicious food, excellent service - atmosphere not great but this was due to the rain and not being able to sit outside - great restaurant!
