Was great that we got to experience other dishes from the menu, although tapas style dishes the portions were more than generous. Flavours and combinations were exciting and really good, and what a surprise deep fried milk is! Presentation of food beautifully done on well chosen crockery. Definitely worth another visit to taste more of the deliciousness which is Cheyne's .... Well done Cheyne's!!

Unfortunately the staff, while perhaps good intentioned, were less than stellar. You got the impression they had never dealt with a tasting menu before and didn't know how to handle it too well. No explanations of what we were being served nor of the wine we paired with the meal. It was lack lustre. The food was great. However, strung altogether as a tasting menu, the combinations didn't really work. It was very rich and heavy and there were far too many strong fishy flavours. Individually each dish was great but together I feel it was too much. While wine pairings were recommended with each course, they should offer a pairing option with tastings of each wine available. We gamely ordered all 5 glasses of wine which was a a bit extreme! The evening ended off on a high note - The dessert, a piping hot chocolate fondant with ice cream was absolutely amazing! I love dessert and this was one of the best I have ever tasted. I would go back for that alone!
Everything was excellent. Food was really good.
The four course special for restaurant week was phenomenal value for money. The plates are way digger than a tapas sharing plate. The soft shell crab, sticky duck spring rolls, toku beef slider, deep fried mild and asian mushrooms were stand outs! The pork belly was a little tough and dry. The double peanut dessert was mind-blowing!
