Wow. B&L has been on my bucket list for a while now and now I am glad it was. Celebrated my pre-bday there with my friends and was wowed by the amazing food. Had the most amazing lobster roll and Nutella and Oreo cheesecake. Thank you to Savva and Chris for making my CpT experience so great. Going back to jhb to spread the word. Ambience, friendliness, food... all positive checks

Will be back for the burger, but not the lobster roll. Smallest portion of dry bits of lobster in a great brioche, and once is enough to know to try something different next time.

Was n busy friday night. Waited at the bar for my table as I was early so I enjoyed the 2 for 1 special on gin cocktails. Lady at the front took me to my table and then the amazeballs started.

Starter was a thing from out of this world. Mac and cheese with enfused bacon wrapped in phyllo. No wonder weed was made legal because who thinks of that. O my goodness that was best thing I have ever had.

Manager came to chat to me during Main meal and said this would be the best burger I would ever eat. Touche, it was a very good burger. Like really good. The only problem I had was the juices from the patty made the bottom bun a bit soggy and difficult to grab onto. But that just shows how juicy the meat is and the burger is really good.

For desert I had the oreo and nutella cheesecake served with oreo cookie, cream and strawberris. All on its own the cheesecake is a bit sweet for my liking but if you take a piece of everything then the magic happens and your tastebuds tingle like a kid who finds a secret stash of chocolates. The only problem I had was that the side crust was a bit to thick for my liking and is hard to eat and to sweet on its own.

Other than that, will absolutely recommend this restaurant to anybody and when I am back in Cape Town will definetely go back.

We received a three course meal. Starters were deep fried Mac and Cheese. The crust was so flaky and the mac and cheese inside amazing. A wonderful surprise. The main course we decided on the burger. Our table was in agreement that is the best burger we've eaten. A 250g excellent beef Pattie. The salad had the most divine balsamic based salad dressing. The croutons in the salad absolutely perfect.
The Dessert was a nutella based cheesecake. A perfect ending to a stunning meal. Thank you for a lovely evening.

The restaurant had a nice vibey atmosphere with a variety of people eating in the restaurant on a Friday night.

The service was excellent. The waitress was friendly and the food came out quickly.

Regrettable the food was greasy and disappointing. The lobster portion was small and tasteless and completely lost in the huge bread roll.

The steak and burger options did admittedly look like a better choice.

About Burger & Lobster

Burger & Lobster

Gourmet burgers and lavish lobsters are at the heart of this trendy new Bree Street restaurant and cocktail bar.

Tucked away neatly on the Mother City’s trendiest strip, a fresh-out-the-box addition to the metropolitan culinary scene has officially arrived offering patrons an all-new epicurean experience. Sitting flush against Bree Street’s cobbled sidewalk, its large arched black doorway – which formally opened in July 2016 – stands tall, presenting passer-by’s with very little indication as to what takes place behind its unassuming entrance. The only clues? An elegant red carpet leading into the building and the doorway's contrasting title ‘Burger & Lobster’, which in actual fact simply says it all.

Reverting to an unusual approach of a restaurant culture where diners are offered only few items on the menu done right, Burger & Lobster (B&L) Cape Town presents customers with an impeccable threefold menu in the form of its B&L Burger, B&L Lobster Roll and fresh – from tank to table – Whole Lobster done two-ways.
