We both chose lobster rolls of the tiny menu but were delighted in what we got, fresh warmly toasted brioche, firm yet juicy crayfish tails with japanese mayo! Great skinny fries and a generous salad on the side co oketed the meal. Wonderful treat and will certainly be making a date to go there again!

The food was really good, especially the Lobster rolls, and very filling. The service was pretty good they did keep checking on our table and the waitor was very patient and helped make suggestions with which cocktails to try. Overall it was a good experience.

"Delightfully different and not your normal burger joint!"

Fresh, boutique style upmarket vibe. Very "trendy joint" with cool characteristics. Love what they did architecturally.... the lobster motif on the wall.... who thinks of these things!!!

Enough about the design (interiorly.... is that even a word??), let's talk gastronomic. Very simple menu, the name says it all....

Fresh, boutique style upmarket vibe. Very "trendy joint" with cool characteristics. Love what they did architecturally.... the lobster motif on the wall.... who thinks of these things!!!

Enough about the design (interiorly.... is that even a word??), let's talk gastronomic. Very simple menu, the name says it all. Only 3 options all consisting of burger or lobster. But don't let the lack of variety/options fool you, because they certainly know how to do it up right! Firstly the brioche buns were fab, the meaty thick burger was ample and juicy, the lobster was nicely done, accompaniments were a lovely little gourmet salad with balsamico and croutons, and love the pile of shoestring fries served with tomato sauce, top notch mayonnaise (I am a bit of a mayonnaise aficionados), and even vinegar on request....all presented beautifully in a classy yet understated fashion. And because it was #EatOut #RestaurantWeek we scored desert too! A scrumptious and oh so creamy crème brulé with very berry mini meringues.

But what they lack in variety on the food menu they expounded on in their elaborate, eclectic, and outrageous cocktails menu....obviously, the mind set when creating some of these concoctions was a perfect food & drink pairing. I tried the Maple & Bacon Old Fashioned bourbon cocktail which paired superbly with my bacon & cheese Burger.

So, definitely give this new guy on the block a chance, for a lovely lunch, brilliant suave yet chilled dinner, or even for afterwork or evening cocktails. It is a fun twist from the old typical. Enjoy!!

About Burger & Lobster

Burger & Lobster

Gourmet burgers and lavish lobsters are at the heart of this trendy new Bree Street restaurant and cocktail bar.

Tucked away neatly on the Mother City’s trendiest strip, a fresh-out-the-box addition to the metropolitan culinary scene has officially arrived offering patrons an all-new epicurean experience. Sitting flush against Bree Street’s cobbled sidewalk, its large arched black doorway – which formally opened in July 2016 – stands tall, presenting passer-by’s with very little indication as to what takes place behind its unassuming entrance. The only clues? An elegant red carpet leading into the building and the doorway's contrasting title ‘Burger & Lobster’, which in actual fact simply says it all.

Reverting to an unusual approach of a restaurant culture where diners are offered only few items on the menu done right, Burger & Lobster (B&L) Cape Town presents customers with an impeccable threefold menu in the form of its B&L Burger, B&L Lobster Roll and fresh – from tank to table – Whole Lobster done two-ways.
