And don't get me started on the oreo cheesecake - seriously yummy! The staff were also genuinely friendly and helpful. Thank you B&L - I will definitely be back.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a swank New York style, with the bar being a key feature. The staff are professional, friendly and make you feel comfortable. Food was absolutely amazing and I couldn't fault anything except that I wish I could have tried everything on the set menu. They have a great 2for1 special on cocktails. wines and beers between 4pm and 7pm which meant we could indulge in bubbly affordably.
Will definitely be back to try all the other things I missed out on
We were a group of 8. The menu was great. I do have a recommendation. my suggestion would be to remove the steak option from the menu. Burger and Lobster burgers are amazing. The starter deep fried mac and cheese was divine. I had the sirloin option. The steak was extremely fatty and tough. The bone marrow sauce was tasty and the steak marinade preparation was tasty. My husband had the burger. It was amazing. Thank you for a lovely fun evening.

When we got to the restaurant we told the host we had a booking and he asked a waitron to seat us with menus. I saw that it is not the restaurant week menus but the normal menus. When we asked about it they said they didn’t yet print out the menus (at this stage we realized they were not at all prepared for restaurant week). The waitron told us the two-course menu which would be burgers and a cheesecake for desert. The food took a while a people arriving after us got their food way ahead of us. The food was okay, and we really wanted to cleanse our pallets with some cheesecake and then it happened- the waitron came over and told us there is no cheesecake. They made a plan and gave us overly sweet cake. The waitron was good, the food okay and the disappointment big. Won’t be visiting again.
The food was fantastic! We had the lobster roll and it was like butter in your mouth. The mac and cheese balls were full of flavour and the dessert was exceptional.

The atmosphere was not really to our liking. It had a modern feel but seemed to be trying to be a bar more than a restaurant. It had red lighting which made reading the menu difficult and the level of music was too loud to allow much conversation.
The service was good but we weren't really checked on much.

About Burger & Lobster
Burger & Lobster
Gourmet burgers and lavish lobsters are at the heart of this trendy new Bree Street restaurant and cocktail bar.
Tucked away neatly on the Mother City’s trendiest strip, a fresh-out-the-box addition to the metropolitan culinary scene has officially arrived offering patrons an all-new epicurean experience. Sitting flush against Bree Street’s cobbled sidewalk, its large arched black doorway – which formally opened in July 2016 – stands tall, presenting passer-by’s with very little indication as to what takes place behind its unassuming entrance. The only clues? An elegant red carpet leading into the building and the doorway's contrasting title ‘Burger & Lobster’, which in actual fact simply says it all.
Reverting to an unusual approach of a restaurant culture where diners are offered only few items on the menu done right, Burger & Lobster (B&L) Cape Town presents customers with an impeccable threefold menu in the form of its B&L Burger, B&L Lobster Roll and fresh – from tank to table – Whole Lobster done two-ways.
