From Start to finish this was the best Restaurant Week experience we have ever had. The service was exceptional. The Food was perfectly balanced and just exquisite and the View was spectacular. New Favorite JHB restaurant.
We really enjoyed our visit to the View, at the Westcliff this past week. We found the ambience exquisite with beautiful views over the city, and the food was delicious. We would definitely recommend this to other people in future.
The service was at just the right level of attention, the waitress was there whenever we wanted something, without crowding us.

From the complimentary amuse-bouche to the coffee the whole meal was tantalizing in how it was put together. We were introduced to samphire with our braaied octopus starter which was well-cooked through without being tough. The crushed potatoes provided contrasting texture to the octopus, but did not leave us feeling full by the end of the starter.
The lime and mango sorbet palate cleanser was a perfect balance of sweet, sour and bitter to refresh our tastebuds for the main course.
The sea bass main was served with edamame and pickled shimeji, with a chive buerre blanc sauce. The flavours were well matched and quite delicious together.
My husband had the Oak Smoked Beef main. The fillet was rare and had a subtle smoked flavour which was complimented by the lightly toasted corn and grains.
I had the the Pimms Baba for dessert. I was expecting a fairly strong Pimms cocktail, but once again was surprised by the well-balanced and interesting flavours. There were crushed strawberries in the Pimms cocktail, a cucumber jelly on top of the light sponge cake, a strawberry sphere, two sorbet spheres, a slice of dried strawberry and Basil sprouts to really send my taste buds to new heights. It was a deliciously light desert.
My husband ate all of his Dawning of Spring raspberry and chocolate mousse. Having finished it, he commented that he would have put the raspberry layer on top of the chocolate layer, instead of underneath and that he could have done with a smaller portion for the sake of his waistline!
This was topped off with mignardises: handmade marshmallows, strawberry jellies, miniature cinnamon dipped koeksisters and ganache-coated caramel-filled cream, accompanied by tea or coffee.
It was a superb dining experience from beginning to end.
Great lunch with my hubby in a perfect setting. Food and service was amazing.
It is an amazingly attractive restaurant with spectacular views and food to match. Really had an amazing experience, however the dessert was a bit of a let down.
