When attempting to place a drink order, we were told that they don't have a liquor license. The waitress advised that we were welcome to bring our own alcohol & that they would not charge a corkage fee. Why was this not advised when making the booking?! I had to try & make last minute arrangements, for one of my guest to bring some wine. I was horrified, especially because I was entertaining work colleagues.
On attempting to place our food order, the waitress asked if she could give us a list of items that were out of stock, for the evening. The list was quite extensive. For any establishment to be out of avocado in 2017, is simply ridiculous. Woolworths Glenwood is one block from the restaurant.
The food was nice, taking into consideration that you could only order what was left... It took forever to get the meal to the table. We were one of two tables at this point. It was difficult to enjoy the meal after all of this.
We finally wanted to finish off the evening with some desserts. We were speechless when the waitress advised that they were fresh out of dessert... All of them?!?! With 4 tables between 7 & 10 on a Thursday evening, I cannot help but wonder if they ever even existed?
I was highly embarrassed. The poor waitress did the best she could, but you can only do so much, if you don't have the tools to do your job.
Sadly I won't go back. The idea behind this restaurant is great, but this experience was just too terrible.
