Noel was our friendly and attentiv waiter and with a glass of bubbly on the house he informed us about the wine estate, the chef and the menue we were going to experience. We arrived with high expectations and could choose between 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts.
All the plates we had were of high quality, excellent taste and professionally plated - only those who choose the beef was disappointed because the meat ordered 'medium-rare' was more on the 'medium-well done' side, almost tasteless and dry.
As we met with friends for lunch we had to talk a lot.
Nevertheless we spent more than 3 hours to geht our three courses.

Welcome to Gåte, imagine a culinary adventure that circumnavigates the world, an adventure filled with surprises, one which captures your imagination and engages your senses. This is the promise of their Quoin Rock dining experience at their restaurant Gåte, pronounce gah-tey. But there is a playfulness to the name too. The Norwegian origin of the word translates as ‘the entrance of a labyrinth’ or a ‘riddle’ symbolising a gateway to an extraordinary dining experience and a delightful puzzle to be decoded.

1. Do I need to pay upfront?

At most restaurants, you can make reservations for free and cancel them without any charge. You'll settle the bill when you dine at the restaurant. However, some restaurants may request a small deposit, and they will send a prepayment request via Dineplan to confirm your reservation.

2. How do I know if my reservation is confirmed?

You will receive a confirmation for every reservation within a few minutes at the email address you provided. Haven't received anything? Please check your spam folder.

3. I follow a special diet. Can the restaurant accommodate that?

4. Are drinks included in the menu price?

Refunds through Dineplan should be resolved in communication with the restaurant, and we are not directly involved in this process.

8. Until when can I cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation online up to 8 hours in advance, or by phone up to 1 hour before your reservation time. However, we kindly request that you cancel as soon as you know you won't be able to make your reservation.
