Starters: Partner had the Citrus cured sea bass with citrus salad, fine herbs, caper berries, pimento essence, wasabi mayo and yuzu pearls. He said it was really sea fresh and delicious.
I had the Oxtail crepette with pancetta, cauliflower puree, broccoli and tomato salsa and sherry essence. The meat melted in my mouth leaving a lovely velvety texture on the tongue.
Main Course: We both had the Beef Fillet and Cheek in red wine, smoked sweet potato puree, baby veg and thyme jus. Again the meal was delicious and melt in the mouth. Perfectly cooked fillet and cheek
Dessert: Partner had orange blossom pannacotta with vanilla macerated strawberries, raspberry sorbet meringue and pistachio praline. Beautifully presented and an explosion of taste
I had Dark choc tart with coffee meringue, banana beignet, Valrhona chocolate - tahini ice cream. I loved the whole dish but the the tart was was definitely the winner
An excellent bottle of the farm Pinotage 2017 and coffee to end. By which time we rolled out the door and walked around the farm in a daze of gastronomic indulgence!
We went because of the wine but left knowing that we will be back to the restaurant.
The farm is lovely and the atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed but chic. Each of the meals that were ordered at our table were full of balanced tastes and were beautifully presented. The service was great- attentive but not obtrusive.
We feel that this restaurant deserves higher recognition.

About The Restaurant at Wildekrans
About Wildekrans Estate
Wildekrans Boutique Wine Estate is a picturesque 1 000 hectare estate tucked away in the beautiful Bot River Valley amongst fields of indigenous rhenosterbos.
What is now an international award-winning vineyard overlooking Walker Bay was originally established as a mixed farming operation. It was soon realised that the cool terroir of this picturesque farm in the Botrivier Valley, or Bot River Valley, had all the key components to produce grapes of the highest quality expressions. The winemaking process, similarly, adheres to principles of low intervention with a focus on capturing and retaining the essence of the vine and its terroir.
